Story Behind the Art:
Ghana's Awudu Saaed says, 'When I was a boy, I'd follow friends home after school. Their parents had a carving workshop. They noticed my interest and let me try sandpapering the carved items, then I began learning how to design and finish a piece. I had to drop out of school due to financial difficulties and I started working on my own. I was determined to make it and was able to put my siblings through school. Now my dream is to further my education and expand my workshop to be able to train more people.'
