Story Behind the Art:
At the age of 15, Moises Alvarez moved to Lima to study leather and woodcraft with his uncle. 'After six years' apprenticeship, I started a workshop with my brother who, sadly, passed away in 1980. I proudly honor his memory with my work. Now it's my turn to train others in the family - my nephews and other relatives. Some of my sisters work with me as well. My art is a medium to express my country's culture and transmit the essence of Peru,' he says.
