A detailed masterpiece of 2nd generation carver K. Asante is evident in the Denkyem Stool. Denkyem is the Ghanaian name for reptile. 

The symbol on either side of the stool shows two reptiles sharing one stomach, signifying strength in Unity and Diversity.

Story Behind the Art: Highly skilled master carver Asante has a flair for creating unique pieces. He is a pillar in his community, employing scores of carvers in his large craft shop. This has given much-needed employment to many. He also involves several villages in his trade, which boosts the local economy. Asante is a community activist who believes in education and works to improve the quality of life in his neighborhood.
